It is an antibiotic.It is used for the treatment of chest infections, infections of the throat or nose, ear infections, infections of the skin and soft tissues, infections of the heart, infections of the bones and joints (osteomyelitis), meningitis, infections of the digestive system and infections of the blood. Flucloxacillin is used in children, often to treat ear infections and chest infections.
