It contains metformin as the active ingredient which is an antidiabetic (biguanide) medicine. It works by decreasing the development of glucose in the liver, slowing the absorption of sugar ( glucose) from the intestines and increasing the sensitivity of the body towards insulin. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes. It is used in addition to diet and exercise for adults with type 2 diabetes to boost blood sugar regulation.
