It is an antiemetic that is used to prevent cancer chemotherapy and radiation therapy from inducing nausea and vomiting. It is also used in the treatment of diabetic patients with gastroparesis (slow emptying of the stomach), since it increases the emptying of the stomach and prevents nausea and vomiting.
